I'm not a knitter, nor a crocheter. However my eyes lit up when I spied
this bag of yarn in my favourite charity shop a few weeks ago.
At only £1.00 it was a bargain too good to miss!
I don't know very much about wool, but I can see some of it is tapestry yarn. Some appears to leftovers from the previous owners projects wound into balls, and the remainder is a tangled mess. I'm going to have some fun unravelling it later today!
So if I don't knit, why did I buy it? Well, I can use it with my French knitting spool (or Knitting Nancy if you prefer), and it's just the ticket for practising on a cool little retro craft gadget I picked up in another charity shop a couple of weeks ago (more on that in a future post).
I hope you enjoyed the first post in my charity shop finds series. Keep tuned for more!
Ooo, it's so hard to resist little treasures like this, especially when they're so reasonable and especially when you know exactly what you're going to do with them :)
ReplyDeleteHi :) Thanks for the comment :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's hard to pass up a bargain, isn't it?
And seeing as it's for charity it's win-win all round ;)
EXCELLENT find! The wool in our charity shops tends to be a pound or more for part-balls. I often tell the ladies I can get the same acrylic for £1.50, brand new, but they take no notice. Enjoy unravelling!
ReplyDeleteHi there! Thanks for leaving a comment - I've only just seen it. It's all unravelled now and ready to use...if only I could decide what to try first! All the best for 2014 :)
